Couple more pictures before and after the cleanup

The removed wood was stashed on piles and left as is in areas where it does not obstruct tracks both on foot and cycling.

On our way from the spring we found a tree suspended over a track and dealt with it in order to prevent injuries when it decides to fall on somebody.

There is a slight inlet adjustment, it is now shorter and thanks to bypassing the swampy area it reaches the pond faster and is cleaner.

During the pond cleanup we found number of bottles, concrete, plastic and other trash that does not belong inside the pond or around. Recyclables have been sorted, returnable bottles have been returned and we will continue the cleanup as weather and time permits.

Unfortunately it currently suffers due to inaccesibility and fallen trees.

Our goal is to make it accessible and clean, prevent further degradation of the spring and make it usable to broader public.

Without any maintenance the pond will gradually disappear due to leaf fall, bank erosion and number of branches that end up in it.

Our current efforts consist of regular pond floor and bank cleanup and effort to keep the inlet in working state.

Our goal is to stabilize the banks and remove trash from the water, so the destruction of the water body is stopped and the pond can become a living part of the area.

Wood from the fallen trees is left where it is or is used to create something practical on location. A bench from larger pieces, track stabilization and hole filling using smaller bits.
